Reaching Groundwater: Kathleen Flenniken at TEDxRainier



Engineer and Poet Kathleen Flenniken presents her unique knowledge across her fields of experience with a mesmerizing, beautiful structure and flow in her artfully written and spoken work. Formerly a civil engineer at Hanford Nuclear Site, 2012-2014 Washington State Poet Laureate Kathleen Flenniken reveals the challenges in seeing how a technology designed to improve lives results in harmful consequences as well.

Her crystalline, lyric poetry explores and questions our relationships with our country, our beliefs, and our environment. This talk was given at TEDxRainier in Seattle on November 10, 2012.
